Tony Aquila was born in October 1966, in Richmond, California, the United States of America. He was born into an immigrant and military family. Growing up on the fringes of Silicon Valley, Tony Aquila had a pretty mathematical and entrepreneurial mind.
As he grew up in Richmond, Tony Aquila founded his garage, grew a small business, and even sold some technology start-ups during the initial years of the internet.
After he dropped out of high school, Tony Aquila started working at his uncle’s car body shop. In the shop, he swept floors and replaced the windshields of cars.
Tony Aquila’s Career
In 1997, Tony Aquila became the founder and Chief Executive Officer of MaxMeyer America, Inc. The company used to distribute European automotive refinishing products.
In 2001, Tony Aquila became the president and Chief Operating Officer of Mitchell International, Inc. This company sells communication software to insurance carriers. In 2005, Tony Aquila founded Solera Holdings, Inc. which is an automotive technology company.
He also served as the Chief Executive Officer and chairman of Solera Holdings, Inc. Under his leadership, Solara Holdings went public in 2007, and then private in 2016, at which time the company was valued at $6.5 billion.
